COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Nov. 10, 2010) – The U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team has filled the final spot of the 2010 FIVB Women’s World Championship semifinal round that starts Nov. 13 in Tokyo. However, the advancement was not the planned method to continue its quest for the first World Championship gold medal in program history.
On the final day of the second round, the No. 2 Americans needed to defeat top-ranked Brazil on Nov. 10 to guarantee themselves a spot in the semifinals without any outside help. After Brazil won the match 25-19, 24-26, 25-19, 25-23, Team USA turned into rooters for its NORCECA rival Cuba in the final match of the day in Nagoya against Italy. -Read More
